Prepare yourself for the coolest wedding reception location ever to grace your screen! This wedding is a dreamy source of inspiration for any alternative couples wanting something a little different for their day.
The wonderful couple, Becca and Luke, had their wedding reception at Spit & Sawdust, a skatepark by day and an event venue by night based in Cardiff. They got married in a low key ceremony earlier in the day and asked me to be there to capture their post-ceremony celebrations. It was a family orientated, fun-filled reception with something for everyone. Their guest list was full of fellow young couples with their little ones, so naturally, we can’t share all of the images but here are the highlights that made this alternative wedding stand out.
1// They hired a pro skateboarder to skate the vert during the reception.
Talk about making the most of the venue! It certainly would of been an opportunity lost if they hadn’t taken advantage of all of Spit & Sawdust’s unique features, and that was not something Becca and luke were going to do. They hired a pro skateboarder to skate the vert during the reception which the children loved and it added an extra touch to the already standout venue.
2// A banquet of burgers and fries for food.
Do I need to say any more? Is there really any other food choice to match this family friendly reception, super cool venue and a beautiful couple?
3// Epic disco set up to party the night away!
In the evening, the room was transformed by an incredible disco ball and colourful lights that shifted the venue from laidback reception venue to party space fit for this fun fuelled family wedding.
