Beach Sunset Couple Photoshoot | Studland, Dorset Destination Photographer

Well what a session!

Melody got in touch with me in Spring wanting an engagement shoot for her & her partner Alex, but the weather was SO bad for about a month that every session we booked in had to be postponed, it felt like it was never going to happen. The planning behind the shoot was that we’d travel down to Dorset to utilise one of the sandy beaches for some romantic shots on the dunes and around the water. As they’re getting married in Bali next year they wanted to keep that chilled, sandy, beachy vibe, hence why a dreary grey day wouldn’t have been the aesthetic we were after. Melody & I spoke beforehand about wardrobe and styling, location (wanting sand rather than pebble was a test of my Dorset beaches knowledge), and the general vibe for the day. They both took everything on board and brought outfit changes, some wine & we played their favourite playlist.

Arriving at Studland on a beautiful Monday evening the beach was totally empty, really calm and with the odd cloud scattered in the sky - after all the postponements it felt like everything clicked into place.

Melody & Alex took all my guidance on board, as well as allowing themselves to be totally themselves in front of the camera - running through the sea, cuddling up in the sand, and a bit of PDA here and there too. And the result is authentic, romantic photos that they can share with their family & friends ahead of their Bali wedding.

Thank you Melody & Alex, it was such a pleasure being a part of your journey to becoming a married couple!

P.s. do you know I travel for photography sessions? Well I do, and this session is exactly why it’s worth it for the outcome you want!
